June 2nd, a Sunday, LANSDALE'S SELF DEFENSE SYSTEMS will sponsor a one day cane certification clinic.

First level cane will be taught. Those who test and pass at the end of the session will receive cane certification. Cost twenty-five dollars. Along with the certification, you will receive a video of the cane techniques for First Level that you can review.

There is a charge for those who wish to test, but no charge for the clinic itself. So, if you do not want certification and video, just come and train.

This clinic will also serve as a black belt meeting. The clinic will be open to not only Shen Chuan black belts, but any Shen Chuan student purple or above, or any student of the Shen Chuan Stickboxing division no matter what rank, as well as brown or black belts from other schools who wish to participate.

Certification is not guaranteed. Training is.

Lower level certification (Number 1) gives a student the basic strikes, as well as thirty basic techniques.

Future clinics for Second Level and Third Level Cane will be held.

First Level certification gives the certified student the right to teach the cane techniques, but not award certification.

Second level gives the student the privilege to award First Level, and Third Level gives the certified student the privilege to award all three levels.

These three certifications are designed as enhancements to Shen Chuan or any other martial arts system.

It is not designed to make you a master of the cane, but it does lay the ground work, and altogether will include over 90 techniques/strikes and moves. Protection from strikes, holds, grabs.

Clinic will open at 8:30 a.m., will start at 9a.m. sharp and will go to late afternoon with an hour lunch break. Exact time the clinic will be over is uncertain. It depends on the testing. But at least 3:30, possibly 4:30.

Certification will be awarded at the clinic for those who pass the test, and the video will be mailed to you or given to you in class at a later date as copies will be duplicated only for those certified..
