Instructor: Norma Almanza
I started my Martial Arts study at the age of fifteen, when looking to learn some basic self defense skills. Now, nearly a decade later, I've found a science to devote my life to.
At 15, I started Tang Soo Do and Combat Hapkido and studied both religiously until 1998 at which point I had achieved a 3rd red Belt ranking. In 1998, I began to study Shen Chuan StreetBoxing under Shihan Richard Metteauer and received my black belt in that division in August of 2000. I received my instructorship in this division in August, 2002 at our annual rank camp.
This rank camp was a big one for me, in that it was the culmination of years of study in Combat Hapkido (for which I received black belt ranking) and also my ranking in the home system. I began cross training in the hub system, Shen Chuan, under Professor Lansdale in August of 2001. This training was realized with my black belt ranking and instructor certification in Shen Chuan at the rank camp.
My current studies include the continuation of Shen Chuan, Shen Chuan StreetBoxing and Combat Hapido.
